Scramble golf for the team day — scored live, settled clean
Hit it. Pick the best ball. Hit again. Scrambles are the format for charity outings, company days, and mixed groups who want a team number — not eighteen solo autopsies. Rounds keeps the team scorecard live so the scramble stays organized.

Everyone tees off. The team chooses the best shot. All players play their next stroke from that spot (with normal relief/placement rules your committee sets). Repeat until the ball is holed. The team records one score per hole. Variants include Texas scramble, Florida scramble (sometimes rotating whose shot you can’t use), and scramble with handicaps.
Why scrambles need a clear card
Even though it’s one team score, someone still has to record it — and side contests (longest drive, closest to pin, team skins) pile on fast. A live scorecard in Rounds keeps the official team number and any peer-to-peer side action in one place.
Handicaps and team composition
Many events assign team handicaps from a percentage of combined indexes, or set max drives per player. Whatever the event sheet says, agree before tee off. Rounds won’t replace a tournament committee — it will keep the live scoring honest for your group’s scramble.
Scramble day, social-first
Friends can follow the team’s live round from home. Want a side bet on whether the team breaks 70? Peer-to-peer challenges can ride with the card. Free for most features on iOS — not a rangefinder, a group scoring app.
Example hole
Setup
Four-person scramble. Drives land in the fairway, rough, fairway, and trees. The team picks the fairway ball furthest up.
Result
All four play from that spot. They choose the best approach, then the best putt, and card a team birdie. The team score goes on the live Rounds scorecard — along with a closest-to-pin side pot on the next par 3.
